LinkAja was awarded as the Payment Service Provider with the highest number of MSME partners in QRIS Award by Bank Indonesia which was held on 19 October 2021. The award was given during the launch of the Proudly Made Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) East Kalimantan themed Go Borneo, which was launched on 12 October at the Samarinda Convention Hall, East Kalimantan.

Widjayanto, Chief of Operations of LinkAja said, “We are very grateful to the Provincial Government and all City/Regency Governments in East Kalimantan for their support, as well as Bumdes and MSME businesses who have used LinkAja as their preferred Payment Service Provider. We also appreciate Bank Indonesia for continuing to carry out various kinds of training that can promote the use of QRIS to increase business activities and transactions for Bumdes and MSMEs. This award will continue to drive us to provide the best user experience for all society.”

Gernas BBI, which was launched by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia on 14 May 2020, has had a very significant impact on the transition of the MSME industry to a digital platform. Through the synergy of various parties ranging from ministries to regional officials, Gernas BBI has increased the total number of MSMEs and Bumdes that have joined the digital platform by 200%.

The adaptation of Information technology, including the presence of payment facilities from Payment Service Providers, has contributed a lot to regional development and the economic revival of Indonesia. Digitizing QRIS can help MSMEs to stay productive during this pandemic. The presence of LinkAja is expected to provide various facilities that make it easier for MSME businesses to carry out their business activities. Starting from providing access to consumer payments, to managing business finances. At the launch of Gernas BBI, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, purchased local MSME products using LinkAja accompanied by the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, Abdul Halim Iskandar. Payments through LinkAja make it easy for users to make transactions at online and offline merchants at local MSMEs.

The use of QRIS as a payment method that applies to all digital transactions in Indonesia was first launched in East Kalimantan in 2019. Over a period of two years, the penetration of QRIS usage in East Kalimantan has increased 10 fold. This growth cannot be separated from the active role of Bank Indonesia together with the Provincial, City, and Region Governments. This proves the interest and competitiveness of East Kalimantan MSMEs are getting stronger and more adaptive to the development of the digital world.

“MSMEs are the backbone of Indonesia's economic revival. It is our obligation to be able to provide the best services that can continue to maximize the potential of Indonesian MSMEs and support the National Movement for Proud Made in Indonesia launched by the government," concluded Widjayanto.
